Kosmic Slop: Parliament Funkadelic Tribute: Louis Winfield God son of Billy Bass of Funkadelic - keeping the funk alive Louis Winfield Jr. was born and raised in Greensboro, NC. It was there he developed a deep love of music. By the time he was seven years old, he learned to play "Tighten Up" by Archie Bell on the guitar. As he grew older his interest in music grew deeper which led him to learn and master other instruments - such as percussion. When Louis graduated from high school his dreams of being a musician grew more intense eventually landing him a spot in Tom Browns jazz band called "Jamaica Funk". From there Louis went on to perform internationally throughout Europe with his Godfather and Blues legend, Roy Roberts. Upon completion of the tour, Roberts took young Louis under his wing and gave him studio time which led to a one year tour where he met General Norman Johnson. Louis was then given an open invitation to join Johnson in the studio which furthered his education in producing/music business. However, Louis' career got a major boost when he played live with the Tams. Louis played alongside with their daughter, Tiny on her Grammy Award winning group - Xscape (whose songs include "Just Kicking It"). Today Louis Winfield Jr. is in high demand as his music is heard and played across Nashville, TN where he currently resides.
