The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club today announced its 2019 home schedule at First Tennessee Park, in conjunction with the Pacific Coast League. Opening Day is scheduled for Thursday, April 4 when the Sounds host the Iowa Cubs to begin the 2019 campaign. It's the second time in five years at First Tennessee Park that Nashville opens its season at home (also in 2016). The home opener against the Cubs is the beginning of a season-opening five-game homestand at First Tennessee Park. Notable home games during the 2019 season include Easter Sunday on April 21, Memorial Day on Monday, May 27, Father's Day on Sunday, June 16 and Labor Day on Monday, September 2. "We're excited to announce our 2019 home schedule at First Tennessee Park - the best ballpark in Minor League Baseball," said Sounds General Manager Adam Nuse. "Over two million fans have packed the ballpark in its first four years and we look to continue the trend in 2019." First Tennessee Park plays host to 11 different homestands to fill the 70-game 2019 home schedule. The longest homestand of the season is a 13-gamer from May 21 to June 2 when the Sounds welcome the Memphis Redbirds, Round Rock Express, and New Orleans Baby Cakes. First Tennessee Park opened its doors on April 17, 2015, to a sellout crowd of 10,459 fans to cheer on the Nashville Sounds in the opener to the team's 38th season. With 19 sellouts in 71 openings, the first season welcomed a total of 565,548 fans to the park, which is the highest attendance the Sounds have had in the last 25 years.
