  1. Mother’s Day Tea & Fashion Show at the Hermitage

Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend with an elegant tea party in Tulip Grove mansion on Saturday, May 11th. This year, they’re celebrating the 130th anniversary of the Ladies’ Hermitage Association, who fought to save the President’s home and became trailblazers for women and historic preservation across the country. To honor their legacy, guests will be escorted into the garden to enjoy a “Women of the Hermitage” fashion show featuring period dress and stories of women across three centuries. Guests are encouraged to join in the LHA fun and dress inspired by their favorite decade or just don a favorite hat! Following the fashion show, guests will enjoy a formal seated tea and hors d’oeuvres served in the 19th-century parlors of Tulip Grove, home to the President’s niece and acting First Lady, Emily Donelson. The morning tea will begin at 11 a.m., and the afternoon tea will begin at 3 p.m. Each program will last no more than two hours. Space is limited, so purchase your tickets online soon!
