Parks & Rec: October Pickleball Clinics & Open Play Times

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department (WCPR) offers a wide variety of pickleball programs for all ages and ability levels.

A paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels, pickleball rules are simple and the game is easy to learn.

Pickleball Clinics
A clinic for beginners will be held October 21, 22 and 23 from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Registration code #15561. For Level 2 players, clinic dates are October 8, 9 and 10 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Registration code #15584.

A Drills and Skills clinic has been added to the schedule to provide a combination of practical training to improve pickleball skills and the implementation of drills to improve performance out on the court. Clinic dates are October 15, 16 and 17 from 5:30 to 7:00 a.m. Registration code #15585.

All clinics are taught by experienced pickleball instructors on the outdoor courts at the Academy Park campus, located behind the Williamson County Enrichment Center at 110 Everbright Avenue in Franklin. Cost is $50. Registration is now open at www.wcparksandrec.com. Space is limited for each clinic. Open Play Pickleball
WCPR facilities offer “Open Play Pickleball” on gymnasium courts around the county.

Academy Park Gym (50+), 120 Everbright Avenue, Franklin: Tuesday from12:00 to 2:30 p.m.; Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; and Friday from12:00 to 2:30 p.m. (615) 786-0186 ext. 2048.

Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road, Franklin: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; PLUS Monday 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. (both courts); and Saturdays from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. (615) 790-5719, ext. 2010.
